The cyclone season in Samoa generally runs from November to April. This with the peak activity occurring between December and February. During this time, Samoa is at risk of being impacted by tropical storms and cyclones which can bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surges.

In recent years, Samoa has been impacted by several severe tropical cyclones. These included Cyclone Evan in 2012 and Cyclone Gita in 2018. These cyclones caused widespread damage and disruption to the country. Highlighting the importance of preparedness and resilience in the face of extreme weather events.

Crime in Samoa is very low. Note also that in 2009 they changed to side of the road on which they drive however many of the cars in Samoa is still mixed. Note that homosexual acts in Samoa are illegal. You do not need a visa to visit Samoa as you can stay for 60 days. If you have come via a yellow fever country then you will need a Yellow Fever Certificate to enter Samoa.

Health care facilities in Samoa are adequate for routine medical treatment, but are limited in range and availability. Doctors and hospitals often expect immediate cash payment for health services. There have beenĀ  an outbreak of Chikungunya virus.
