Renew British Passport

British Embassy

You need to complete the forms correctly as 1 in every 8 applications for a British passport which needs to be renewed is rejected as being incomplete. There are a number of forms each for a different type of passport depending on your age or if it is a ‘Smart’ passport or not. They are listed below with the documents linked from the Home Affairs website.

Also note that you need to have the support documents as well. Also note that the photo requirements for your passport must meet the IPS standard.

Note this is to renew your British passport and not a new application. You can apply to renew your passport if

  • You still have your last passport
  • It is still undamaged
  • You do not need to change your nationality status or name.
  • Please ensure your photographs meet IPS standards

Update : You now apply online on the British Government website for British Passport renewals

The British Embassy in Hong Kong is listed here.
