In the event that your passport is lost while in the country, it is necessary to report the incident to the Bosnia and Herzegovina police for a case number. Subsequently, the police will issue a letter that must be presented at the British Embassy to obtain a temporary passport or apply for a new one, depending on your preference.

With a temporary passport, leaving the country is possible, but those residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina will need to wait for a new passport. It is important to transfer the old Bosnia and Herzegovina visa to the new passport, and even when applying for a new passport online, a police report is still required.
